This is just two actions that i know that have been in effect to stop Canada's Cruel Seal Hunt
1. Parts of Europe have banned Canada's seafood and seal furs products
2. Some U.S. states and Canadian citizens have boycotted Canada's Seafood Industries

at this moment.
|
To clear things up, my blog title 'all you need is one.' comes from this quote:
"At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes -- all you need is one." -Peyton Sawyer
I think it fits my topic well, and that is why it is a part of my blog title.

make this go on forever.
|
What I've learned and recognized is that there can be alot of supportive people on my issue but also alot of unsuportive people. My views is that gay rights will become better and that people will learn to accept it more even if not everyone will (hopefully, a majority though) accept it . And I can't be angry about it because there will always be differences. Not everything in this world can be perfect where everyone is the same and the share the same minds and I accept that. I accept everyone opinions on my Gay Rights issue, whether they support what I support or not. Because really theres no point in arguing when not necessary because it can go on forever

People who used to be on the inside reported that it was so easy for them to steal weapons and explosives and unleash them onto the streets. I still need to find out more on the dealing drugs part of it that will most likely be the next blog.

Cod Collapse on Canada' s East Coast
|
In 1992 Newfoundland and Labrador, the cod stocks collapsed, the Canadian governmeant then realized that they had to close the fisheries causing over 40,000 people to lose their jobs. Communities struggled to recover from this state of shock. The Canadian government had been warned by scientists and environmentalists that the cod stocks were overfished and overexploited before this catastrophe had gone any further. This is a great example of outcomes when overfishing occurs. The future is still unclear for the cod stocks, but this catastrophe has become a warning bell to other countries that practice this overfishing.

Canada's Cruel Harp Seal Hunt
|
Help Save the Seals! Every year the Candian seal hunt is taking place in the north were its the largest slaughter of marine mammals on Earth. Every year there are about 250 000+ seals killed by hunters for their pelts. These mammals are killed very in humanly, most being skined while still conscious. Many killed are younglings called white coats because of their white furs, as they get older their fur sheds and turns darker. After the seals are skinned, hunters usually leave the carasses on the ice or dump them in the sea. The oraganization that control the total number of allowed seal deaths is called the DFO, they were responsible for the cod fish collapse as well in Canada. If this continues further more the seals will be in a state of risk of extinction.

The Armenian genocide
|
World War One gave the Young Turk government the cover and the excuse to carry out their plan. The plan was simple and its goal was clear. On April 24th 1915, commemorated worldwide by Armenians as Genocide Memorial Day, hundreds of Armenian leaders were murdered in Istantly after being summoned and gathered. The now leaderless Armenian people were to follow. Across the Ottoman Empire (with the exception of Constantinople, presumably due to a large foreign presence), the same events transfered from village to village, from province to province.
Now the villages and towns, with only women, children, and elderly left were systematically emptied. The remaining residents would be told to gather for a temporary relocation and to only bring what they could carry. The Armenians again obediently followed instructions and were "escorted" by Turkish Gendarmes in death marches.
The death marches led across Anatolia, and the purpose was clear. The Armenians were raped, starved, dehydrated, murdered, and kidnapped along the way. The Turkish Gendarmes either led these atrocities or turned a blind eye. Their eventual destination for resettlement was just as telling in revealing the Turkish governments goal: the Syrian Desert, Der Zor. Those who miraculously survived the march would arrive to this bleak desert only to be killed upon arrival or to somehow survive until a way to escape the empire was found. Usually those that survived and escaped received assistance from those who have come to be known as "good Turks," from foreign missionaries who recorded much of these events and from Arabs.

Animal rights, wow...
|
Ok, so the word "animal rights" haven't invented yet (is it?), but think about it, animals are being killed for their fur and money and does not concern about how it affects the earth's ecosystem. Think of ways that could help out animals and protect them from harm.

Obese people ugly?
|
Well, i usually hear now and then that fat (obese) people are ugly. They assume that obese people are ugly. And i totally disagree, just because one person is obese doesn't mean they are ugly. This idea is usually because of the media ex. stick skinny models, celebrities etc. That is why people are so afraid of people judging them for their weight, which ends up to diets, anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders. Please tell me what you think!

Learned
|
Well so far i've learned is that more people believe that obesity has gotten worse especially in the U.S and that the media has taken a big role in people's weight

The documentary was suppose to show how eating unhealthy foods all the time can result to physical and psychological well-being and explores the fast food industry's corporate influence, including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit. At the end of the documentary Morgan Spurlock gained 24.5 lb (11.1 kg)He experienced mood swings, sexual dysfunction, and liver damage. It took Morgan fourteen months to lose the weight he gained. More info later... p.s don't need to comment
